Yesterday we’ve submitted with Steven our documentary to the Taipei Urban Nomads film festival. This is the first festival we are submitting to and hopefully we will go through and be screened in May.
We are actually quite confident for this first submission. As part of the requirements to get a film selected, it is imposed that film is 45min. or less and:
- by filmmakers who are residents of Taiwan,
- films produced in Taiwan, or
- films with some strong connection to Taiwan.
With our short, we are fulfilling all three of the requirements to join the festival. Also we’ve worked over the past week to add traditional Chinese subtitles to the movie in order to make it accessible to the local public as our voice-over is in English.
I have to say, big thanks to Sparkling Dai for her translation skills and patience.
This is not one of those big film festivals you might have heard of such as Sundance. But a film festival is a film festival and all of them are worth considering. This one feels especially fitted to our project and without aiming at winning anything, the pleasure for us will simply be from getting our film screened.
So let’s cross fingers! If you haven’t seen the documentary yet; Head over here!
